His Grace Geevarghese Mar Coorilos was born on 7 October 1949 at Kollad, near Kottayam. He did his Bachelors in Arts from the Calicut University and MA from Sree Venkateshwara University. He did BD from Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam, and got a post-graduate diploma in Pastoral Theology from Heythrop College London University and post-graduate diploma in Theology and Mission from Urban Theology Unit, Sheffield, UK.
He is known for his work among students. His Grace Geevarghese Mar Coorilos who is the chosen and trusted successor of our founder late lamented Dr. Philipose Mar Theophilus, is the torch bearer of his multifaceted charitable programmes. In that he established, St. Mary’s ICSE School Kopharkhaine, JNPT School Navi Mumbai, The Georgian Community in Roha which is a multi-cultural with an old age home, a CBSE School and various multifarious Charitable Programmes. The St. Thomas School Valsad, Dr. Mar Theophilus ICSE School Dhanori, V.E.S college of commerce and the Management Institute, Sanpada in Navi Mumbai and substantially expanded the Multipurpose School in Vashi which now has more than 7000 students and St. Thomas School at Kalyan which has now a strength of twice its original students and Teachers.
His Grace holds many positions in the Orthodox Churches and other Christian societies. He is a strength to be reckoned with and has greatly contributed to the success of St. Thomas Public School.
